Surrey-Guildford High Performance Academy
Program Overview
The Surrey-Guildford United Metro Program is excited to offer a high performance academy program for the select players of both Surrey United and Guildford AC during the 2010-2011 soccer season. This program is entering its second year and the benefits of year one were immense with many of our players being recognized for higher-level programming with BC Soccer and Whitecaps FC as well as some of our top-flight teams achieving some major accomplishments, including District Cup, Coastal Cup and Provincial Cup championships.
Being the first of its kind in Surrey soccer the high-performance academy is designed to pool players of similar abilities in a training environment that will test and improve their skills under high-quality participation standards. Jeff Clarke, Surrey United Technical Director, and Sipho Sibiya, Guildford AC Technical Director, will be the head coaches of this program and will be assisted by top coaches from the Surrey-Guildford Metro Program and SU/GAC Club Staff.
The SGU High Performance Academy program will be open to U9-U12 boys and girls. It will include eleven (11) 75-minute training sessions over the soccer season and each group will train every second Friday between September 2010 and March 2011. The cost of the program is either $225 (registration includes a mandatory program training kit worth approx $55) or $175 (program training top purchased in 2009/10 Programs).
