We wish Craig, Jen and family all the very best as they begin an exciting new chapter in their lives in England where Craig will be working for Portmouth FC in the English Premier League. Craig will be leaving for England at the end of July and we shall continue to stay in close touch with Craig and watch with great interest as his career progresses. To the Surrey United Soccer Club membership I joined the SUSC as a player in the summer of 1999 with the men’s Pacific Coast team, later that year my role expanded to part-time coaching in the youth system. Over the course of the next two seasons my involvement continued to grow into the full-time position of Technical Director (TD). As I enter the final weeks, a decade after joining the club, I wanted to take the time to formally thank the club. The SUSC has consistently provided support and guidance allowing me to creatively grow and develop the technical programs. In conjunction, the strong and ever expanding executive has worked tirelessly to enable me to enjoy my job. They made me accountable for my decisions and actions, ultimately resulting in my personal growth. I consider myself fortunate to have developed lifelong friendships with coaches, parents, and players during my tenure. I pride myself on knowing that I always attempted to be honest and fair with the members of the club, and made decisions in the best interests of the club first and foremost. I leave the club with mixed emotions; I am excited to be entering a new challenge in the professional game in England, but in the same thought am saddened to be ending my time with the best amateur club in Canada. However, it pleases me to know that the club has great leadership committed to its continued growth and development. The club has a tremendous amount of passionate coaches, managers, referees, and volunteers that will ensure a great soccer environment is created for all the players for many years to come. In closing I thank everyone that has supported, challenged, and guided me during my tenure. I would like to make special mention to the Duncan family (Tom, John, Yolanda, and the late Sandra), Martin Foden and Spiro Pegios who amongst others who have shown me unwavering support and friendship. Yours in soccer, Craig Dalrymple Surrey United wins sixth-straight provincial title The team has traveled to Charlottetown, PE, Calgary, AB, Halifax, NS and St. John’s, NL, bringing home one silver and three bronze medals along the way. The team has also 'traveled' to Surrey where as hosts the team won gold in the annual Jubilee Trophy competition three years ago.
United nets six-pack of B.C. titles Surrey United went into Saturday's Provincial Cup final sharing the record for most consecutive titles. Two hours later, the Cloverdale girls stood alone in record books after nabbing their sixth consecutive B.C. crown with a 2-1 win over Richmond. "We were still pinching ourselves afterward," said Surrey striker Megan Blaker. "Yeah we've won it before and even though we were talking about winning six in a row, it was still kind of a surprise at the end. Once we actually did it, it was like, 'Whoa. Holy smokes -- six in a row is amazing. We haven't lost a playoff game in six years and that's nuts. That's absolutely nuts." Midfielder Geri Donnelly agreed, adding, "We're all still a little stunned that we won again. It's all kind of surreal right now. When you consider all of the players we've lost over the years, six in a row is amazing. "Even this year, we were without our two main defenders with injuries to Mylie Ross and Erin Porter, plus we lost Sadie McLure when she took a job back east. So we were without three of our four defenders and we still managed to find a way to win which is mind-boggling." Blaker, Donnelly and Kate Qually are the only members of the team who have played in all six Provincial Cup final wins. Click
