United Women bring home bronze medalsI

Surrey United took bronze at the nationals in PEI on Monday after defeating Lac St Louis Lakers of Quebec 5-1. Martina Holen-Franco scored 3 and Vanessa Martino and Megan Blaker one each. Toni Pascale scored for the Quebec team. Surrey completed the round robin with 3 wins and one loss (to Athens United of Nova Scotia) thereby pitting themselves against the Quebec team for the bronze.

 

Well done ladies. Edmonton Victoria representing Alberta took the gold with a 1-0 victory in the final over Athens United of Nova Scotia.
On the men's side, BC champions Surrey Pegasus took the Challenge Cup. Pegasus defeated the Ottawa Royals of Ontario on penalty-shots in the final after the teams were deadlocked 0-0 after extra time.
