FALL & WINTER PRACTICE TIMES

We are busy planning for the clubs new season and currently involved in the field allocation process with the City of Surrey.
We expect the allocations to be finalized within the next few days and when it is I shall be working on our Fall practice schedule and anticipate having that available by 26th July. We have however been receiving requests from coaches for practice times for the Fall & Winter (currently 20plus e-mails) so it is timely to provide some communication.

Our turf allocations will not commence until Monday 5th September but as in previous years we shall provide grass practice times for all teams at U/11 and up and these allocations will commence on Monday August 1st. (The mini fields will be available a little later when the baseball diamonds become available.)

Naturally everyone who has written to date has requested a preference for a 7.00pm practice time on a Tuesday,Wednesday or Thursday but of course it is not possible for everyone to have these time slots so it is therefore worth reiterating our philosophy regarding practice allocations and also reassure everyone that practice slots are not allocated on a first come first served basis.

Please note that our Mini teams are usually provided with gym Practice times during the Fall & Winter with some gravel practice being available for some of the older mini teams (U/10) but a further communication will be sent out to our Mini Coaches when we become aware of our gym allocations.

The following guidelines may not work in every single situation but they represent a tried and tested approach that seems to be the most equitable.

1. Our younger teams are allocated the early time slots and the older age teams receive the later (8.30pm start time) slots.
2. Teams that play their games on Saturdays should expect to have Mondays as one practice night and teams that play on Sundays should expect to have Fridays as one practice night.
3. Every effort (not a guarantee) will be made to give special consideration to those coaches who are the primary coach for two teams so that their teams will, wherever possible, have back to back practice time slots.
4. Every effort (not a guarantee) will be made to also accommodate those teams that have players enrolling in the academies to try and schedule their team practices on nights that do not conflict with the academy days and times.
5. The number of practices allocated per team is as follows:-
   Two Practices per week on Turf for the following teams
   Selects
   U10 Developmental
   U11 Silver & Bronze
   All Gold Silver & Metro teams from U/12 and up
   
   Two practices per week on Gravel
   Intermediate
   U12-U18 Bronze
   One practice per week on Gravel
   Recreational U11-U18 House
   (Additional slots if available will be provided upon request)
