2011 Nationals Roundup
Brossard QC, October 10, 2011 -
Gold Medal Game
Surrey United played an outstanding game to capture their second Jubilee
Trophy in the last five years by beating Quebec’s Royal Select Beauport
by 2-1 on Thanksgiving Monday in Montreal.
Brossard, October 8, 2011 - Surrey United entered the final day of round robin play against Quebec Sherbrooke Verts knowing that anything better than a three goal loss would see them emerge as the Group winners. Naturally, they set out to win and played a very strong game throughout dominating the play and camped virtually in the Quebec half for most of the game.
Brossard, October 7, 2011 - In order to maintain their position as one of the group winner contenders Surrey United had to beat Manitoba by the same margin or better that Alberta did on day one. United accomplished that by winning 10-1 in a game where it was difficult not to ease up such are the rules of the competition.
Brossard, October 6, 2011 - Surrey United ladies took on and beat the heavily fancied Alberta Edmonton Victoria 3-1 on day two of competition play at the Jubilee Trophy Nationals Competition in Montreal. The result will go a long way to determining the eventual winner of the group and it was critical that United would be at their best for this game and they did not disappoint.
Brossard, October 5, 2011 - After acclimatizing themselves for two days in Montreal, Surrey United ladies finally took to the field on a beautiful sunny day in la belle province marred only by some very strong winds that were sure to figure in the play and indeed the outcome of some of the games.
Surrey United Women win 8th consecutive Provincial Cup
On Sunday May 15 in Aldergrove, BC in an exciting and most
entertaining match, Surrey United Women knocked off Westside FC 1-0 to
win their 8th consecutive BC Soccer Women’s Provincial Premier Cup, an
unprecedented accomplishment. “We were thrilled to come away with
another Provincial Championship and it is a phenomenal accomplishment to
win 8 years in a row” said Martin Foden, Executive Director of Surrey
United Soccer Club. “Now we need to turn the latest Provincial Cup run
into another Gold Medal at the Nationals in October and anything less
would be a huge disappointment”

Eight is Great
Surrey United capped an undefeated season by capturing their eighth
consecutive women's Provincial Cup title in Aldergrove Sunday.
The runaway regular season winners of the Metro Women's Soccer League's
premier division maintained their winning ways with a dominant
postseason. Surrey won the MWSL's Premier Cup in March and then blew
through the first two rounds of the Provincial Cup draw, outscoring
their opponents 12-0. Sunday's finale against Vancouver's Westside was
much closer but Surrey was still able to celebrate following a 1-0 win.
