Surrey United’s second opponent in their challenge for the cup was again against a div 2 team, this time they had to travel to Point Grey on a Friday night to play Point Grey Rangers just 24 hours after their previous cup-tie. Weather conditions were much improved from the previous night, but with the temperature below freezing and United emerged with another 3-2 victory and once again came back from a two deficit. The game had a slow pace at the start as both teams were playing very cautious trying to get a feel for their opponents. Early in the game Point Grey was awarded a penalty kick but United’s keeper, Paul Moreau, made a great save on the ensuing penalty shot, showing early signs that he would be very focused on the night.  However, ten minutes into the game the home team did take the lead when a feed from the left side found their striker 22 yards out from goal in the middle of the field and he was able to make a quick turn and fire the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. Ten minutes later the home team was able to find the net once again to register a two goal advantage but Surrey, having been in the same situation three days earlier, realized they still had a lot of time left to play so went about their task in a calm methodical manner. After dominating play for a fifteen minute spell United reduced the deficit in the 35th minute Matt Byron was able to hit a rocket off a rebound from 25 yards out that was labeled for the top corner giving the sprawling Point Grey goaltender no chance. The tide once again was turning and United continued to carry the play into the second frame and were rewarded for their efforts at the 60 minute mark, when Tyler Tieszen was able to let loose with a left footer from 30 yards out that curled around the right side of the defence and hit the top corner of the net. United were now rampant and went in search of the winner. Their hard work and dominance was rewarded when with fifteen minutes of the game remaining Tyler Tieszen hit another rocket from twenty five yards out which sailed over the Point Grey keeper and into the net. Surrey United was now on top 3-2 and the home team tried to find a response but the lads from Surrey were equal to the task, especially goalie Paul Moreau made a couple highlight real saves in the dying minutes of the game..
