General Soccer Information By Player Age
Many parents are new to soccer or new to how soccer is played today. Things have certainly changed over the years and player development in Canada is now driven by programs and player development programs created by Canada Soccer and implemented by Canada Soccer National Youth Club License holders like Surrey United Soccer Club. The Player Development Pathway can be found here.
But where do you start? How can you navigate your way through the ages and stages of your enthusiastic child? What program is the right program for the beginner or the more experienced athlete? What additional programs might be available or worth considering in addition to playing on a team in fall/winter or spring soccer seasons? There is a lot of information and we hope this guide, identifying specific criteria and options by athlete age, will assist our members in finding the right fit for their child (or themselves!) as part of the Surrey United Soccer Club family.
