On September 30, 2024, we will observe Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is dedicated to acknowledging the tragic history and enduring impacts of Canada’s residential school system. We remember those who didn’t make it home and support those impacted by the generational trauma of the residential school system. Throughout the weekend of September 28-29 as well as September 30th, our club will once again honor this important day. In 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada laid out 94 calls to action, meant to advance the process of reconciliation in Canada. Surrey United Soccer Club | Surrey | Cloverdale | U13 BCSPL Pre-Intake Development Program Information *新* U13 BCSPL 入学前发展计划 U13 BCSPL Pre-Intake Development Program Program Overview The 206-27 SUSC U13 BCSPL Pre-Intake Development Program a professionally administered and coached program for Tier 1 (2014 born) players. The program is directly included in the highly successful SUSC BCSPL Program and all aspects of the U13 BCSPL player experience (including training curriculum, mental training, goal setting, etc.) will be included in the BCSPL Player Development Plan on which the program is built. The U13 BCSPL Pre-Intake Development teams play a 9v9 game format, as per BC Soccer’s directive for all U13 players. There will be a 3:1 training to game ratio throughout the program. The teams will compete in the BC Coastal Soccer League and there will be permitting opportunities into higher age-group games, additional 11v11 training games and opportunities to augment the 9v9 league play. Coaching Staff The coaching positions in the program will require the same certification level and experience standard that all BCSPL teams adhere to. Program Inclusions Lead BCSPL Technical Director - the lead for the 2026-27 program is SUSC BCSPL TD and Sporting Director, Jeff Clarke Full-time, fully certified, paid head coach 3:1 training to game ratio Attachment to SUSC BCSPL Program Inclusion in all features of the BCSPL development program Linkage with the 2013 BCSPL teams Opportunities for call-ups / permits into BCSPL league games Program training & game kit All players to receive a kit fit meeting and sizes will be finalized at that time Affiliation with South Fraser District Association & BC Soccer Local Legal Play (spring and fall) - year long program that runs April 2026 to March 2027. Note - there will be additional opportunities for out of town games and tournaments. The cost of these are in addition to the program fees. Registration & Timeline for Program Placement / Team Placement The U13 BCSPL Pre-Intake Development Program is open to all interested players in the lower mainland. Like the SUSC BCSPL Program, the final player placement will be based on merit and inclusion of deserving players that meet the program’s standards. There will be team placement / evaluation sessions held in February. These details will be sent directly to current SUSC U12 Select players and all out of club players that have registered using the SUSC Interested Players Form (see info below). Currently registered SUSC players do not need to register and are already included in the team placement / evaluation process. This landmark partnership agreement not only brings covered training opportunities to Surrey United SC but to other sports and community organizations seeking the use of this popular recreational facility type. The undertaking of the design, construction, and operation of this facility reinforces Surrey United’s commitment to soccer for its approximately 4,400 mini, youth, and adult players and commitment to being a conduit for multi-sport opportunities for all residents in the area. The facility brings opportunities for sponsorship, including facility naming rights, uniquely written into the Partnering Agreement. A robust operating plan is in place and set to begin September 2026, following the facility’s construction period of July 2025 - July 2026.
