Adam Day

Adam currently holds his B.Sc. degree in Physical Education as well as the prestigious UEFA A Licence, which is the penultimate qualification in UEFA Coaching Licensing and he most recently received his Elite Formation Coaching Licence from the World Champions France after a specialised 15 month course with the French Football Federation.  Adam is originally from London, UK and after an outstanding youth career with esteemed clubs such as Charlton Athletic and AFC Bournemouth, Adam moved to N America on a soccer scholarship where he achieved great success of being named a 2x All American.  Adam’s coaching career began early, and it has now spanned across 17 years where he has worked in a variety of roles from a University Head Coach, Technical Director, Director of Football, Academy Director and Head Coach. He has coached for one of the world’s biggest clubs in English Premier League Giants, Arsenal F.C and has recently been appointed Technical Director for our regional partner, Guildford AC, after 3-1/2 successful years with the sought-after Vancouver Whitecaps FC Residency Program where he served as U17 Head Coach.  Adam recently returned to our Surrey United BCSPL as Interim Head Coach with the 2002 BCSPL girls team.

Coach Djekanović holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Education, a Masters in Educational Leadership and a USA Soccer Federation B National coaching license. He is a former Canadian National player at the Senior and U-20 levels, a former CIS player with the UBC Thunderbirds of Canada West, and a former professional player in the MLS with the Vancouver Whitecaps, Toronto FC, and the Montreal Impact (the first player in Canadian history to play for all three Canadian professional teams).

Nick is currently the Assistant Technical Director with Surrey United SC and Assistant Coach for the Trinity Western University Spartans. He has just completed his first year with the 2005 BCSPL where they were crowned provincial champions. 

 

His previous coaching experiences include a variety of ages, genders and levels from CIS men's to BCSPL Intake girls. As a player, Nick capped off his university career at TWU as the CIS MVP in 2007 after being recognized as an All Canadian 4 out of his 5 years. He spent his teenage years playing within the academy system for French Div 2 side Chamois Niortais FC. His highest level of play was for the Canadian junior national team where he played his u17 to u20 years. Closer to home, he also won a provincial championship with the Surrey United Firefighters in 2011.

Mike is the currently the Assistant Technical director with Guildford Athletic Club, in addition to that role he is also the Assistant Coach with The University Of The Fraser Valley's men's soccer program. Prior to his role with Guildford, Mike spent time with NSSDC in North Vancouver.  Mike spent 5 years coaching boys and girl's teams in the SGU Metro Program, which included a Provincial Cup Championship in 2014. Mike played his University Soccer for both the Kwantlen Eagles, as well as the Capilano Blues program. He was a conference all-star in his rookie season in 2008. In his post-University soccer, Mike has played for EDCFC's VMSL Premier and PCSL soccer teams.

Tom is currently the Head Coach of the Men's soccer program at the University of the Fraser Valley. He has led them to two Canada West final four appearances and in 2015 his squad won the Bronze medal, the highest achievement for the program to date. 

 

He holds a Bachelor of Science from Baker University (Kansas) after completing a successful career as a student athlete. He was a First-Team All Conference All Star for his junior and senior year and reached the NAIA National semi-finals ending the year with a #3 National Ranking. After graduation and completing his eligibility, Tom remained in Kansas and was an assistant coach for both the men's and women's programs at Baker. In 2012 he was apart of the coaching staff which took the women's program to the NAIA National Sweet Sixteen, and coached two All Americans during this time. 

 

Tom has coached at Surrey United for over 5 years, during this time he has been an academy coach whilst also helping with our SGU Metro program and playing on the Men's Premier team, Tom currently coaches our 2003 boys and our graduating 2001 girls team. 

Tom currently holds a CSA National B License and will pursue his CSA National A License during the next intake in 2020.

Ari enjoyed a highly successful soccer career with Simon Fraser University Women’s Soccer from 2007 to 2011 where she was a starter for 4 years and team captain for the last two years. She is well known in our club and has played on our Women’s premier team since 2008, winning multiple Provincial championships and a National Championship in 2011. In addition, Ari has been part of our technical staff since 2009 and has worked in our academies throughout that time.

He has also been on Surrey United Technical coaching staff since 2017.
