Surrey United Soccer Club will be hosting our 4th annual Awards Night Sunday, February 23, 2020 at the Grand Taj Banquet Hall at 8388-128th Street, Surrey from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. n addition to our awards, we recognize outgoing staff, coaches and long standing volunteers and their contributions to the Club. We always have a few, crowd pleasing surprises thrown into the evening as well.

2020 Awards Night Nominations 

Club members of all ages and from all teams, together with their families are welcome to attend this special evening. Admission is free of charge, however, SUSC will be collecting donations for KidSport, an organization that has, over the years, come to the aid of families of Surrey United Soccer Club to help with registration costs. 


Surrey United encourages all club and community members (parents, coaches, managers, volunteers, etc.) to participate in the nomination process as a means of acknowledging and celebrating achievements, exemplary performances and contributions from individuals within our Club and our surrounding community through the period of January 2019 though to January 2020.


Nominations open December 1, 2019 and will be accepted for the following categories:

  • New Referee of the Year

  • Referee of the Year

  • Manager of the Year

  • Coach of the Year

  • Gus Beck Club Volunteer of the Year

  • Community Award

  • Girl Player of the Year (U13-U18)

  • Boy Player of the Year (U13-U18)

  • Adult Female Player of the Year

  • Adult Male Player of the Year

  • Girls’ Team of the Year (U6-U12)

  • Boys’ Team of the Year (U6-U12)

  • Girls’ Team of the Year (U13-U18)

  • Boys’ Team of the Year (U13-U18)

  • President's - Inspirational Award of the Year

New Referee of the Year:

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Strong commitment to referee game assignments

  • Has a good work ethic

  • Shows a good command of the Laws of the game

  • Shows good perseverance and problem solving

  • Is a positive role model to his/her peer young referees

 

Referee of the Year

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Contributes to and is an ambassador for the soccer community

  • Promotes the game of soccer

  • Achieves a high standard of refereeing in their matches

  • Is a positive role model to his/her peers and young referees

 

Manager of the Year

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Adheres to and understands the Rules and Bylaws of their participating league

  • Demonstrates concern for the athletes' career and life outside the sporting environment

  • Provides a platform for coaching success

  • Positive liaison between club, team and community

  • Has consistently displayed strong organizational skills

 

Coach of the Year

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Is a positive role model for players, parents and spectators

  • Promotes the Surrey United Soccer Club's core principles through his/her actions

  • Inspires citizenship qualities in players

  • Demonstrates a willingness and desire for self-development

  • Encourages fair play and sportsmanship

  • Demonstration of a concern for the athletes’ career and life outside the sporting environment

 

Gus Beck Club Volunteer of the Year

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Promotes the Surrey United Soccer Club's Mission Statement

  • Minimum 5 years with the Surrey United Soccer Club

  • Encourages and inspires others to volunteer with the Surrey United Soccer Club

  • Excellent role model for others within the Surrey United Soccer Club and community

  • A willingness to assist other volunteers

 

Community Award

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Any club member, parent, legal guardian or team who makes an impact on their community

  • Demonstrates initiative to identify and fulfill a need required in their community

  • Represents the Surrey United Soccer Club in a positive manner through community service

  

Girl Player of the Year (U13-U18)

NOMINATION CRITERIA:

  • Demonstrates leadership and fair play in their conduct on and off the field of play

  • Consistently shows a positive attitude and enthusiasm for their team

  • Willingness to receive and respond to constructive feedback

  • Consistently achieves a high standard of play at their respective level

  • Has excellent attendance at both training and games

  • Possesses and demonstrates exemplary character attributes

 

Boy Player of the Year (U13-U18)
