​Envision Financial Youth Mentorship Program

​

The Envision Financial Youth Mentorship Program, proudly supported by Coast Capital Savings and delivered through Surrey United Soccer Club (SUSC), provides U16 to U18 players with valuable leadership, coaching, and career development opportunities both on and off the field.

​

Supported by the Surrey School District, this program is designed to help student-athletes develop practical skills, gain volunteer experience, and prepare for life after graduation.

​

Program Benefits

Participants will:

• Gain hands-on experience as a mentor or volunteer coach within SUSC's youth teams and academy programs.

• Develop leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Earn volunteer hours that may be applied toward secondary school graduation requirements.

• Explore post-secondary education and career pathways.

• Access coaching and referee certification opportunities at no cost.

 

All registered participants will receive information regarding seminars, workshops, coaching placements, and program activities, including dates, times, and locations.

 

Post-Secondary Planning & Guidance

Preparing for life after high school can be overwhelming. This program provides valuable resources and expert guidance to help participants plan their next steps.

Topics include:

• Understanding the post-secondary admissions process.

• Exploring college and university pathways.

• Learning how to apply for grants, bursaries, and scholarships.

• Developing strategies for academic and career success.

 

Coaching & Referee Certification Opportunities

Participants interested in coaching and officiating will have access to training and certification programs that provide valuable experience and credentials.

​

Opportunities include:

• Coaching experience within SUSC youth programs.

• BC Soccer's Active Start Certification for Grades 10, 11, and 12.

• Introductory referee development and certification programs.

• Respect in Sport: Activity Leaders Certification.

• Ongoing mentorship from experienced coaches and club leaders.

 

All certification and program expenses are covered by SUSC and Envision Financial.

Introduction to Sport Business & Leadership

Discover what it takes to run a successful sports organisation.

Participants will gain insight into:

• Sports administration and operations.

• Event planning and management.

• Budgeting and financial planning.

• Scheduling and logistics.

• Governance and organisational leadership.

 

This session provides a practical look at career opportunities within sport and business management.

 

Leadership, Goal Setting & Personal Development

Success in sport, school, and life starts with strong leadership habits.

Through interactive discussions and guest speaker presentations, participants will explore:

• Effective goal setting techniques.

• Time management and organisation.

• Building confidence and resilience.

• Leadership and decision-making skills.

• Strategies for balancing academics, athletics, and personal commitments.

 

Participants will hear from experienced leaders who will share real-world insights and practical advice they can apply immediately.

Social Media & Video Analysis

Learn how technology, communications, and performance analysis contribute to the success of a modern sports club.

 

Participants will have the opportunity to:

• Attend a seminar on SUSC's communications and digital engagement strategy.

• Learn the fundamentals of video analysis in player development.

• Assist with creating content for club events and initiatives.

• Gain hands-on experience supporting SUSC's social media activities.

• Contribute to video analysis and performance review projects.
