BCSPL High Performance Academy

 

​Program Overview

​

The Surrey United SC BCSPL High-Performance Academy (HPA) is a premier development program for U11–U12 select players (born 2014–2015) who aspire to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer in British Columbia. This academy is designed to prepare athletes for future assessments and placement in the Pre-BCSPL U13 and ultimately the BC Soccer Premier League (BCSPL) at U14.

As one of the first programs of its kind in the region, HPA has been a cornerstone of elite player development for over a decade. Graduates have gone on to represent:

​

• BC Soccer Provincial Teams

• Whitecaps FC & Whitecaps REX Program

• Canada Soccer National Teams

• FIFA Men’s & Women’s World Cups

 

Elite Training Environment

This regionally based, invitation-only academy brings together highly motivated and technically advanced players in a competitive, high-performance setting. The program features:

• A best-in-class positional training curriculum, recently updated to reflect modern game demands

• Video analysis to support individual growth and tactical understanding

• A curriculum that exceeds national licensing standards, developed by:

  • Jeff Clarke, SUSC Sporting Director

  • Troye Flannery, SUSC Technical Director

 

Video Analysis Component

The video analysis portion of the program focuses on:

​

• Individual training habits and technical mechanics

• Player mirroring and modeling

• Age-stage technical evolution and its impact on match-day performance

• Tactical decision-making aligned with game-play scenarios

 

This component helps players visualize their development and understand how their training translates to competitive play.

 

Program Details

• By invitation only: Eligible players will receive a registration link via Demosphere in August 2025

• Schedule: Friday evenings from September to February

• Location: Cloverdale Athletic Park

TRAINING TIMES

Times are subject to change based on final registration and the final City of Surrey field allocations.

• 7:00pm - 8:15pm Boys

SUSC High Performance Academy Player Kit: What You Need to Know

To maintain a consistent and professional training environment, all players are required to wear the official SUSC High Performance Academy Player Kit to every session.

​

2025–26 Academy Kit Details:

Black SUSC Academy High Performance Training Shirt (unchanged from previous years)

Red All-Weather Adidas Academy Jacket (new for 2025–26)

 

Please note: The black SUSC Academy jacket is no longer part of the kit and has been replaced by the new red Adidas jacket.

 

Ordering Your Kit:

Kits must be purchased separately through Demosphere under the “Clubwear” section.

The training shirt does not need to be repurchased unless it has been lost or outgrown.
